The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is an independent information security certification overseen by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (known as (ISC).

You need to have at least five years of full-time experience in two or more of the 8 domains of the (ISC) ² CISSP CBK:

  • Protection of assets
  • Technology and management of Security
  • Communication and Network Security
  • Identity and access management
  • Safety assessment and testing
  • Security Operations (Basics, Investigations, Incident Management and Disaster Recovery)

Earning a four-year college degree or regional equivalent or an additional credential from the (ISC)2 approved list will satisfy one year of the required experience. Education credit will only satisfy one year of experience.
